Rats and mice *aren't* delicous?
Ohhh...you people are *so* wrong! .... http://www.earthportals.com/Portal_Messenger/ratfordinner.html
The better recipes are 2/3 of the way down the page. ... Ground rat with chili paste is a personal favorite! ... Ok.....who has room for seconds? ...
QUOTE: ... The rat is then spread open and placed either between a grate for cooking over an open flame and the smaller rats are ready for the wood chopping black. The smaller rats are left on the grill just long enough for the meat to be cooked, but still medium rare. ... Then the small rats are chopped up very finely on the chopping block, small bones and all, until a sort of fine ground meat is made into a paste. END
... Guess mice just aren't as delicious as rabbits...
Plus he might have known the family.
OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!
I'll never be able to kill mice ever again. That damn "waiting family in the field" visual will haunt me forever. What an awful thing to say, Connie
As for that site you posted, Will... after contemplating it for a few seconds, I think I will second Connie's dessert option.
(Call me weird, but somehow the idea of baking a pie is slightly more palatable to me than the thought of slicing up a rat, splitting it open and grilling it... or mashing it up into a "paste", ugh )
Whoa whoa whoa you two!
Look, I can cook the rats in a pastry crust, you know, like "Rat Wellington"....it'll fulfill your dessert needs just fine!
Oh, well why didn't you say so sooner? All right then, as long as you cook it in pastry
(It's just hard to get over the visual of a RAT. I'll only try the dish if you rename it and convince me there's no trace of rat in it. Pastry or no pastry!!!!)
