Hi Cindy, so sorry to hear about Aera. I cried....I'm such a lush when it comes to dogs and animals in general. I know she has crossed over to the rainbow bridge and looking down happily wagging her tail
My deepest sympathy to you for your profound loss. Also my apologies for this late reply, I just now read the sad news.
I hope you find comfort in the days and months ahead, with your family and the rest of your beloved animals.
Not sure anyone could have cared better or loved more than you Cindy. Please know you are being thought of.
Cindy,
This happened while I was traveling, I am so sorry to hear about it.
Aera was a special girl and I was lucky enough to have owned a first-rate puppy out of her. I always said that it was easy to see a lot of her in Buttercup........I just can't believe that she's gone.
She'll be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for you.....
You should feel no guilt, like Peter said Aera was lucky to have an owner like you and it sounds like she went peacefully . I'm sure she had a life most dogs would want .
You should be proud of the quality of life you give your dogs and when they are gone be thankful you were lucky enough to have them even if it was only for a short time with some .
I lost my first PSD partner Mic suddenly at 7 yrs old . I initially felt guilty thinking there was something I missed that could have saved him . I was also angry because I lost him too soon and there was more for us to do . But as I thought about it and remembered all the badguys we chased down , trophies we won and just the time we spent together , I realized we crammed a whole lot into that short time together and we were a team who made each others life better .
I'm sure you can look back and remember the great times you both brought to each others life too . You were both lucky to have each other .
I know that it is belated but I am so sorry, Cindy for your loss. I only know Aera from the videos, especially went she is telling Bravo who's boss! It is so difficult when you do not get to say goodbye to someone you love and that someone leaves you so suddenly. But, Aera's energy will never die.
Yikes!!!! Cindy, I am so sorry, I just loggied in today and heard the news. Tragedy!! Especially so because it was so unexpected. I had a border collie mix, Max, he was a wonder dog, one of a kind. Trained like a dream, loved people, other animals, and even took on the raising and discipline of a little pup we had. He especially loved my parrot, who would share his treats with him.
One day fine, next day, deathly ill, the next day dead. They said it was a disease like lupus in humans, blood disorder. It rocked my world. The vet raved about how wonderful he was and so cooperative while there. WE were devastated! Even now , we think of him often and hope one day to have another Max.
My heart breaks for you.

Cindy,
I am sorry. It is hard, not matter how quick or expected or not.
I lost Baer last year (the dog that is on your OB DVD front)on 4/15 and the one that chewed up the camera badg I was going to give you that one tme :-). 12.5 years old. It is still hard.
I lost a female, Adie, 4 days prior to her due date due to an embolism. We lost Adie and the puppies. I had Adie since she was 8 weeks old and had planned the breeding that produced her.
