Well I got a phone call and they're not done yet. It is a pretty big semi solid cyst (ew..) but she said she'll send it out for a tissue ID. She asked my permission to go ahead and remove the gall bladder based upon the condition she thought it was in and to make sure it doesn't cause another issue during recovery.
Now just to wait for the phone call that they're done. Wee...
That is terrific news, worried it would be a sarcoma, thought of him all day while hauling manure, checked posts, saw nothing, was afraid to ask.
Thanks for posting.

I agree. I need to start thinking over his diet. He'll be needing a low fat diet here on out. If anyone knows of a skilled raw nutritionist I can contact for a consult I'd appreciate it because honestly I don't even know how to find one for this. I can go low fat, but how low fat is too little, and how low fat will be too much or even how to tell if he's not processing well. I'm sure there is a Rx science diet food for this but jeese, I just can't see doing that to him.

Well... they're done now. She said they were able to do most of this with the laser so hopefully there is less trauma to the liver and less blood loss. I'll have to pick him up tomorrow morning before work, and happily he can join me there where I can keep an eye on him and have a quiet Friday. I have no birthday plans and a light workload tomorrow so it should be a nice three days I can keep an solid eye on him. I forgot to ask if he had a drain or not... I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
Very glad to hear! The information on diet sources that Connie mentioned are fantastic. There is a site on the web, B-Naturals,
that Lew Olson writes newsletters for, maybe you can get some information there as her book will not be released until June.My Pap came from Texas, where Lew is from, and the breeder follows her diets for her dogs.
If parts have been removed which supply enzymes to digest, your dogs diet may have to be really adjusted for him to live, to heal his surgical wound.
My husband is a cancer surgeon who deals with this all the time. If the diets that you try don't work for your dog, please feel free to contact privately.
