Jessica, thank you for the baby wipes idea. It's genius! I don't like to bathe Conan a lot (he's pretty clean anyways thanks to his nice Corgi coat). He gets pretty muddy herding but he rinses off well with a leap into one of the many water buckets out on the ranch. On a bad day you can REALLY smell the sheep crap though, so he does end up getting more baths than I prefer. We furminate every other day (or every day when blowing his coat) and we vaccuum just about every other day too. I am also a dust freak. So I dust everything all the time. I have a Swifter at my desk at work, in my car, and like 10 in the house.
Other than that, I kinda like a nice mild doggie odor. Keeps people from coming over
Hmmmm.... And maybe to flatter their vanity I'll buy them Mastiff sized Neuticles .... 2.75" could be considered great compensation.
This idea has merit...
Poor Falcon... If only these didn't run $1,300 freakin' bucks, I might be willing to help his compensation!!! (Sorry, boy, wouldn't do it today knowing what I know now... )
We bathe Eddie once every 2 weeks and furminate between.
We use the forced air dryer on him at the self serve pet bath place...but Leerburg sells a few on here that are great...I'm going to get one.
Since Eddie is white...if he starts smelling funky between baths i dump some baking soda on his coat and then brush or vacuum it out.
Works great.
I donthave long coat dogs, but I have a special sand box (8'X10') filled with very fine white sand. I take my dogs and let them wallow in that sand box for a few hours. I take them out and brush them off. The sand bath does wonders to keeping them reasonably clean. However a dog of mine loves taking baths so much so that he will barge into the bath room while I am showering and stand underneath the shower.
