Mary: Yay, someone else who watches anime (what do you watch/read?) I do the conventions and stuff to sell at (I do sculpture as well as drawings, posable resin dolls, and I make quick little clay things which are much like these pictures...except 3D
Jamie: Right now I am breaking the kids in to the Anime scene with Fruits Basket. I dont get to watch it as much as I did when I was single/teenager or younger twenties/ since I have had kids. But the box ones I currently have that I have refused to give up are Ninja Scrolls (classic anime), The serial experiments: Lain, Fruits Basket, and the newer box set Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
I did Gen Con, when it was in milwaukee, but not that its in Indiana I don't get to go anymore. My sister does NoBrand Con (I believe) this is Eau Claire, WI near leerburg. The other one they went to was Dashio Con I think that is in point. She's a bigger buff then I am, even though I got her started. She loved the manga and has loads. I am going to post some pictures so you can see some of the costumes
she's done.

Here are other characters she has done but I don't know enough about the characters.

As you can we do like anime in our family lol. Getting the kids interested in it now, I think doing a Con with them would be a blast. =)

That's pretty awesome! I wish I could do more cosplay but I tend to be behind a table most of the con so I'm not as motivated to do it. I do AnimeBoston every year as my anime con (then I tend to do furry conventions since I make more money at them and the community is closer and more art driven...it is also scarier but oh well lol).
I'm really picky with anime. I love Hellsing, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist and Wolf's Rain...I also quite enjoy Miyazaki films like Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle. I'm hoping to finish a cosplay of one of the wolf pups from mononoke for next year's animeboston. I tend to be drawn to the more violent series and ones that people don't really know. Have you even seen the dog based series Ginga Nagareboshi Gin or the better animated, but not as good Ginga Densetsu Weed?

Jamie,
Thanks so much! You have a talent for really capturing the dogs' 'essence'.
Great work, I appreciate it.

Jamie: I totally forgot Howl's Moving Castle, yes I do love that one too! I haven't heard about the dog ones, I will ask my sister. Yes she likes the violent ones also. >_< I had to stay away from them because of the girls' ages. But! When they get older my husband is going to have to deal with watching "Cartoons" again. lol. All the ones you listed my sister has talked about, read, etc. that the names are familiar.
I like the cuter ones, Lain isn't so cute but an ex bf from my teen years got me hooked on that one. We do get Funimation heh now that I ditched the cable. I gotta check the times its on again. Your art is amazing! But, you should enjoy the Con not just sit behind a table. I will have to ask Lianne ( My Sister ), if she has heard of AnimeBoston, and if she has plans on going. If she does I will direct her to you to say howdy.
