Don't know about the cancer connection, but I have an epileptic friend who received similar warning - apparently the stuff can trigger seizures...
I didn't know this Natalya. I have epilepsy. Definitely going to make a big effort to stop with the diet soda now (it's the only artificial sweetener I consume).
as to artificial sweeteners, if you have to cook it up with a chemistry set in an industrial lab I ain't eating it. I'm beginning to feel the same way about pharmaceuticals

Ummmm....are you gonna' skip the beer? You know it don't 'xactly grow on a vine, don't ya?
I thought that article said that artificial sweeteners (AS) were safe for humans but not rats. Did I miss something?
However, this article: http://www.aspartamekills.com/mpvalley/index.htm says that artificial sweeteners increase cancer in humans and rats. The author presents evidence that Searle falsified the safety test results for aspartame.
There are also compelling arguments that Gulf War Syndrome was caused by free diet soda left in 120* temps for up to 8 weeks which degraded the AS into poisons/neurotoxins which were then consumed in large quantities by the soldiers.
Just from a quick reading of the article I gathered that AS can cause cancerous tumors, grand mal seizures, and birth defects.

Thanks for all these links. Stopping diet soda will help me stay away from aluminum too, which may be linked to Alzheimer's (don't kick me in Connie's thread if I spelled that wrong ).

yeast, hops, grain, water, stir with a stick, wait and then chill.

Many pharmaceuticals are synthetic. Much of the insulin that keeps insulin dependent diabetics alive is synthetic. I am hoping you never need these parmaceuticals, but it beats being dead.
