Their last name was Little. They named their daughter Laurie, who grew up to marry Lauren. Tomoko could not pronounce "L" very well. Her daughter's name sounded like "Raurie Rittle" and of course it then became "Raurie and Rauren". Tomoko was a very good sport of all of our teasing...

I do have family members who's accents range from Mayor Menino to Ted Kennedy. It makes me a good faker. The other day I was on the T and the driver announced the train was going express to Harvard. It came across as: 'expresstahahvahd. trainisgoinexpresstahahvahd. expresstahahvahd" You could tell by the look on peoples faces exactly who was from here and who wasn't.
