Well, with me, I think I need to be kinder to new folks. If present members are afraid to tell some of their friends to post here because they'll be eaten alive, then I'm not doing as much good as I might like to think.
I know sometimes I read a first post and think "OMG! "
If I post words that get that across, I haven't helped non-posters, either, who might be reading (who ARE reading .... ever notice how many anonymous folks are reading at any time? As I post this, 97 anonymous are reading along with 27 registered).
To rephrase that, I don't want to compete with other boards in being dismissive, and maybe a one-line answer that dismisses the O.P. is what the PMs were about. What if we win that competition?!

How's that for emoticon use?

I know that I become frustrated with people asking the same question that we've covered just last week ( and the week before that, etc. ) and I just don't answer those questions anymore - and overall I see that I post much less than the old days, except to moderate or to answer a stimulating question.
I *do* wish that new posters would take the 2 mins. to use the search function before asking their questions, we seem to post links to previous threads a lot lately.
And I've said this before, but I won't reply to a post where the OP can't be bothered to use proper capitalization, grammar, etc. - if posters are too lazy to take the time to at least make their post readable, I'm just not gonna bother, period.
I understand where everyone is coming from r/t frustrations and posting, reposting....
From a newer posters and non prof trainer prespective sometimes it is just a need for reassurance, others times a whole lot more. It took me awhile to figure out that there are a lot of basics to training that cover a wide spectrum of 'problems', it is just learning to make that connection. A lot believe their situation is unique, when those who have had a whole lot more experience can break down the behavior into cause and solution a lot sooner and see it to be not that unique..because it isn't most of the time. Granted there are tons of other scenarios.
