Faster, easier, hotter coffee & a fresher cup of coffee for a 2nd cup.
Also no bitter coffee oils residue left in the pot, no matter how well you clean the pot. Which buy the way, should not be cleaned with soap or detergent, as it DOES leave residue & effects the coffee's taste over time.
Also, everyone gets exactly what they want. I like a mild breakfast blend and Rob likes it a little darker with Hazelnut. I will sometimes like some decaf and my sister (lives across the street) likes extra bold.
I am a Realtor and work out of the home, so I have clients come to the house for nearly everything. They love having a choice as well. We keep a variety pack on hand for guests and clients.
And the kids can make a cup of coco after dinner if they eat it all.
Personally I love it because I'm the only one in my house who really drinks coffee. My husband drinks it every now and then, but I have at least 4-5 cups a day (most of that is decaf btw). I have a decent regular coffee maker but after having the Keurig, it can't touch the quality. I love that every cup is fresh and hot and doesn't sit around all day. The variety is great too...it's fun to let guests pick out which flavor they want

Can you make it stronger (or weaker) as you like, or is it pre-set somehow?

Kinda pre-set, but you can choose the variety, bold, extra bold, mild etc...
Mine allows for you to choose from three different size cups. So it is different amounts of water going through the same amount of coffee grounds. The largest cup size will be a little weaker than the smallest because of this.
If you make your own cups you can adjust the amount of grounds to your liking a little better.
The regular k-cups are thrown away after each use. They are usually plastic and look like huge coffee creamer cups. I do have the filter that allows me to use my own coffee though and with that one, you can control the strength of it. It is reusable as well. I'm finding the best deals are online...most offer free shipping after spending a certain amount.
