I'll put them through the grinder; they won't take up that much space. I'm used to dealing with pretty large quantities-- this zoo eats 200 pounds a month. Two large upright freezers in the basement just for dog food.
I was thinking that you might be grinding them. Just realizing you have the pack you do, it makes perfect sense to cash in on the savings! Woohoo! Happy doggies!
We trade the Hudderite colony by our Dairy our old soap barrels for poultry and pork, so it's essentially free meat. We spread the wealth with the families that work for us. I love our plastic barrels

This has been a fun thread, and I've decided what to do! My husband wants to splurge this thanksgiving and get a 'good' turkey from Whole Foods (their meat is more expensive, but it is soooo good - it's so tender and juicy, that it makes the grocery store stuff seem yucky). We can't afford to get all our meat there, but once in a while we have a special treat and get some really good chicken or something. They butcher their own meat there which is a dying art here in CA. Kasey's chicken backs comes from Whole Foods cause it's the only place I can find them.
Thanks to Will, we are going to brine this fine turkey in a portable cooler. And like Connie, I've decided to stuff loosely AND put the rest in casserole. Then remove the stuffing when the turkey is done and stick it back in the oven for a bit.
When I joined Leerburg, I never thought I'd get great turkey and stuffing advice too!! It's fun to read how all of you, from all different parts of the country, do turkeys and stuffings and desserts! Thanks for sharing! Hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving!
