I didn't know that either about the pasteurization! Good to know. Ok great news here!! She is no longer dehydrated, gums aren't sticky, skin is snapping back and she literally pee'd every five minutes lol
Also, we had firm stools this morning!! First normal poop in a week (today is one week since we got her) I knew the coccidia meds would help!!
Question- she acts like she's still hungry after eating. Should I be letting her eat until full? Even if it's more than it says she should be having? Should I be feeding her for what I think she SHOULD weigh right now or what she actually weighs? I don't want to cause diarrhea from over eating, but if she needs more calories I want to make sure she is getting them.

How are her poops? Are they perfect logs? I know you said firm, but I would not increase food until I saw a couple of perfect-poop events. Diarrhea would be a horrible setback, with nourishment lost.
If I saw perfect logs for a couple of poop events, I'd probably increase the food.
I'm interested in what the puppy experts will say.
But I do know that avoiding overfeeding-diarrhea is crucial. To add food, I'd add a meal rather than enlarging on a present meal.
Perfect logs, yep. I'll wait to make sure they stay that way. I fed her another small meal before getting your post because she was messing with her bowl and crying. So if she's still ok after that ill continue that extra feeding. And slowly add if I need to, after I see consistent solid poop.
I just throw this out there - All dogs are different, but THK Embark was what finally got Kenzi's digestive tract straightened out. She was super skinny young adult and I couldn't seem to get enough calories in her to put on some healthy weight without causing diarrhea that quickly went bloody. Went through a couple different rounds of metronidazole, but then it would just come back within a week of going off of the meds. Until I got her started on Embark.
I started her while still on the meds and the diarrhea never came back after the meds ended. Within a week or two of Embark she started to put some healthy weight on. For the first couple boxes I fed 50/50 balanced raw and Embark. After that I found that her digestive tract had heeled enough that I could add in different foods (grain free kibble, greater raw variety, different THK varieties) with no issues.
Just my experience! And Embark is one of the varieties that is fine for growing pups
Wow, I am so happy she is doing better for you. Keep up the good work. Also a warning about over feeeding, she may not have a good stopping button. I had a rescue pup that I brought home and he was skinny, the vet I worked for at the time, I was a teen back than, said to let him eat as much as he wanted and he would stop when he was full. Well the vet was wrong. A 8 week old puppy that maybe tipped the scale at 8 or 10 lbs ate over 4 cups of food and his stomach was over double in size when I took the food away. Again I was a teen and the vet insisted to let him eat until he was done, so I did. Dumb on my part. Ended up having to take him to a different vet and they said he almost ate himself to death. From that point on that dog was only giving a set amount of food and no more no matter how hungry he acted, up until the day he passed away a few years ago. He passed from a brian tumor, not something with over eating. So that is my warning about over feeding. It sounds like she is doing well and gaining weight so I would just keep her on a steady feeding schedule and just follow that Keep up the good work
Update: still solid poop. I'm so happy I could cry and she is feeling much better. Holy crap she has SO much energy and is in full fledged land shark stage ouch!! lol I'm going slow with adding food, we did some marker intro today so I used boiled ckn. Tummy seemed to do fine. And she learns so quickly, I'm going to have a lot of fun with her! We had our first little walk, played fetch & tug. I got tired, she did not. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little scared. I weighed her tonight and in two days of healthy poops she's gained almost 1 pound! Thank you all for your help!
Mara- embark is what I bought glad to hear you had such a great experience with it!
