Her fever spiked last night to 105, before it had been around that at 104, but we were waiting to see if the Doxy would take effect. This morning her temp is 102.5.
Went to the e-vet, they think she's walking strange and are currently checking for swollen joints and inflammation in her brain/spinal cord. Platelets came back normal.
She was panting this morning, but otherwise drinking and eating normally.

Is her regular vet nearby?
I think we asked about lameness or limping back 4 or 5 days ago (maybe page 1 or 2) but I don't remember the answer. Is this the first time it has appeared?
You must be worried sick. I know I am, and I don't even know her.
See a week or so ago her joints were fine and no limping. However she has developed a wobbly gait behind that (only because the vet asked) I just realized as it wasn't completely obvious. She'll stand one back leg in front of the other one and sometimes walk strange. I figured it was just because she was weak, but the neurologist definitely thinks something is wrong.
She's now having her CSF checked, as they suspect something like meningitis. Meanwhile she is still on the Doxy just in case. Poor thing!
Okay so her CSF came back normal, absolutely not meningitis. They wanted to keep running tests, but I was tired of spending money and having my poor girl poked and prodded to not find answers.
I can't figure it out, perhaps she just had a bad flu or something. Meanwhile she is continuing on the Doxy just in case.
She's currently eating and drinking normally. She doesn't have a fever anymore either. She is still a bit lethargic, but is improving everyday. I'm just happy there's progress, even if I don't know why!
I'd put my money on some tick borne illness. She began to improve as soon as you started the doxycycline, if I remember correctly.
Whatever the reason, I'm glad she's better. It sounds as though she was really ill.
