Thanks for your answer, Candy. I never walk none of my dogs loose. Additionally I always walk only one at a time, because there are to many strays around here. Although they normally are quite calm, they know each other, they know my dogs. But there are owners with aggressive made dogs, who leave their door open and so on. I could probably handle one of my dogs at a time, but certainly not two.
Thanks God Slippie is not dog aggressive outside on the street. But of course I'm aware, that I can never know in advance, with which strange dog I will be confronted. My Lab was already by surprise attacked by an aggressive Pit. I kicked him strongly in the belly (it was a reaction, I know that this can be very dangerous), then fortunately the owner came running and dragged his dog away.
What refers to the obedience under high distractions, I will have to keep on working on this. God! This is certainly difficult!
Now to the better news. My husband is getting uncertain. I made him watch the DVDs again. This time he gave some thoughts to the whole matter. I showed him also the feedbacks I recieved from so many people. He is still hesitating, but I know him already 50 years and I also know the "principle of babysteps" and now I'm very optimistic, that soon he will give in.
Keep your fingers crossed.
Christina

pass on to your husband : changes and results will be quicker and more effective if both you and your husband are working off the same page .
the commands you use and the methods will be more readily received by the dogs if the people leading ( you and your husband ) are applying them consistently in the same context / situations .
How absolutely right you are, Ian. It cinfuses the dogs, if not both are pulling on the same. In some things he does this, but with regard to the comandos, he doesn't even know them, because he never takes part and when he want a dog do something, he simply says what comes to his mind. Well, time will tell.
Thanks for your support, Ian.
