So Dot stopped eating again, and will only eat boiled chicken. I called the vet, and the lab lady from our hospital came and took some bloodwork as a favor for me, and sent it to the vet. We will know tmrw where she is with glucose, thyroid etc. After that I will know what I am dealing with.
She is wagging her tail for the chicken, I am giving her a 1/4 cup blended with water, every 2 hrs. She has firm poop, and clear pee, but there is just something not right. I honestly don't want to send her south to another cage, but if it comes to that, I hope that it will be a quick trip. I am so worried for this girl I hope it is just a case of getting used to food, and not something serious. Wish us luck!!
Yes hopefully, she simply knows that boiled chicken is yummier than dog chow
And of course, long-term recovery is not an overnight fix -- "Poop Patrol" sounds encouraging anyway ... Sometimes just rest, Routine, and TIME to settle-in can be the primary Cure.

Took her to town today to weigh her. She came in at 56.8lbs.
I don't mind making the chicken, but she needs some calories in her. Still waiting on the bloodwork.
Back to housecleaning while I wait!!

Have you tried shredding the boiled chicken, then mixing it 1/2 & 1/2 with boiled rice, and adding the "chicken broth & rice water from the boiling pots" to her Drinking Bowl for a little bit of extra nutritional value?

Yes Candi, she refuses anything added to her water. The vet wants her on a high calorie diet, now that her poop is firm and she has no vomiting.
So with the chicken I added the chicken water, and half a scoop of the gluten free dog food, mixed with a handful of her chow. She gives me a look for about 5 minutes, than eats it. The vet wants her water cut down a bit, as she is filling up on water more than food, and is not dehydrated. He is going to test for a bunch of things, and was disappointed I refused to send her until the tests were done. I don't want her in another cage, and he had to admit that as long as she was going outside, and eating/drinking some that she wasn't in any danger staying here. If the tests come back with something serious I said I would be more than happy to send her. I am having my partner pick up some quartered chicken, and am going to boil it up to make some stock to go with the wet food mix. That should give me enough chicken with some good fat to help add some calories etc to her diet. The wet food has meat, the only carb being potato. We will be keeping a very close eye on her.

Dot's tests came back, they did a Geriatric profile. She has chronic kidney disease. We are going to discuss our options. Will let you know the outcome

Depending on the initial severity, kidney disease can be quite manageable.
Best of luck!!

Unfortunatly due to the large amount of toxins in her blood, and the vets view of the photos we sent, the chance of survival would have been less than 20%. He said he would treat if we wished, but told us he would not be surprised if she died before dialysis was complete, and with her long term care up here without a vet close by to monitor, adding on her emaciation, he suggested we put her down.
Her breathing got labored late this afternoon, so we sent her on the evening flight. I am bawling my eyes out. I really had hoped it was something simple. They will still do a physical, if she makes the flight alive. I am making my sister pick her up from the airport and take her to the hospital. I have to go now. I need to go clean something to clear my head of the rage and sadness.

I'm so sorry, Becky. What a sad turn of events. I know you really did everything you could to turn Dot's life around.

Ditto, and please accept my condolences.
I know how much you cared, and I'm glad she had that care and love.
