What, no Mutz, Argus? How about Karlo Peko Haus? The big problem is no body is listing dogs that are ALIVE for the most part. Understanding this is the hypothetical, are we not listing dogs currently available because there is nothing worth mentioning?
The tree of Freedom needs to be nurtured with the blood of Patriots and tyrants. Thomas Paine
AzTrooper are we not listing dogs currently available because there is nothing worth mentioning? Az, I dont believe they are listing dead dogs because no good dogs are living today. Hindsight is always 20/20. Just the dead dog they mentioned are already proven producers.
Of course, I'll be looking for the perfect <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> (aren't we all) working GSD. Great with grandkids, good sport dog, Shutzhund and AKC ob, and still be willing to eat the bad guys. ( my neighborhhod has lots).
The dead dogs listed are proven producers
Makes a lot of sense. The great dogs of today will only be truly great when they show they can pass on their greatness.
I dunno. Are we talking about great producers or great dogs? I mean you can have a dog that is just phenomenol and apparently his sperm is just a little defective...lol.
You can also have a dog who just plain old sucks(I know why was it bred) and it produces fantastic. This happnes a lot with hunting dogs.
Your right Tod. I've seen mediocre JRT's that someone took a chance on and consistantly produce top hunters. I guess my question would be,How do you guys/gals pick a dog? More by the parents or farther back?
