I think I tried it in '95 - I'm pretty sure it had soy at the time I tried it cause I asked the dealer about it, but decided to try the food anyway. I think I used the puppy formula as they didn't have a performance. ( I tried the cat food and the cats did fine on it) The rest of the ingredients seemed pretty good and I thought I could get away with it as I mix with meat. My dogs would eat compressed sawdust cubes if it showed up at dinner time and they ate the Wysong ok - it was just the clean-up issues! Sometimes the ingedients formulation are different between U.S.and Canada. Might not have been the soy as I have fed other foods with it in and never the shocking results....The kibble I use now is called Conrad and it is working really well and is easy to get - and no firehose required! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I feed Wellness Super5Mix Chicken or Fish. I also supplement with fresh raw, cooked, or fermented fruits and vegetables, various dairy products (not milk), canned sockeye salmon, cooked meats and fish, oatmeal and other cereal grains (you get the picture). The kibble is mainly for convenience, but since I love to cook he usually always has these "extras". I must be doing something right because my new vet said if he came in as a stray she would think he's around 5. He just turned 9 in April.

I feed barf, but I would never think those who don't are cruel to their animals. It is a dietary regimen, that is all. :rolleyes: It can be inconvenient at times, like when I was traveling across the US or when I have to leave a dog to be watched while I am away for several days - the 'next best' thing I have found is the freeze dried stuff that is commercially sold now. I think Steve's Real Food is one that is okay and now the BARFWorld.com site has freeze dried as well. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> It is a bit too expensive to use often, but does 'fill in' on those times when dragging chicken backs around can be a problem. I also get the much less expensive pre-made patties to leave when a dog is being looked after and there is a refrigerator handy. That way I just tell the person watching the dog to give them two patties in the morning and two at night or whatever and it has the veggies in it as well as minced RMBs so that they keep basically on their regimen. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> There are a number of excellent kibbles out and dogs can do fine on them.
