VanCamp states the working terriers are great with kids. So true, but With the JRT, there are many lines with Lakeland terrier in them, and some of these can be a lot sharper, harder. The Lakeland blood was put in to make a "prettier" dog for the show ring but it also made a harder dog in the earth. Not the true baying JRTs. White Lakelands, as some call them, are not uncommon in the states. Some clues(not always) are a much highet tail set, a waivy or linty coat, and some just have a "look" in there eye that looks very "varmity" for lack of a better description.

I found some pictures of some. Nice, if my parents want another little dog I might show them this breed.
I can't believe some of things these dogs can do. Jesus . . . I guess it seems possible when you think about it but it's hard to imagine.

Something I would like to "EMPHASIZE" about the Jagds and other working terriers, even pet JRTs. Reguardless of how cute, neat, or however you describe thes dogs, many, many people have found they just can't live with them. The small size hides the true nature of these dogs and rescue centers, are loaded with them. As VanCamp and I have talked about it, people see these "cute" dogs on Fraizer, etc and just have to have one. I have been into just terriers for 25+yrs. VanCamp has been into working GSD's and Working terriers. He can better compair the two but I will bet he is in total agreement with me when I say THEY ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE. If you insist, there are gobs of JRT rescue clubs. As in a workin GSD, if you got the right stuff they are great dogs.

I have no doubts, thank for the advice too. For some reason my dad likes these type of dogs. He's not exactly a clean freak as well and he has a no dog going to the pound policy. My parents are still fairly young so they could handle it but I don't know if they'd even want one. The breed sounds like an adventure though, and I'm sure your right. MANY people can't seem to handle dogs with high energy. Plus, many I think can't handle dogs period.
Point being your right, these dogs aren't for English Bulldog fans. For some reason many people think small dogs like these are easy to care for, but it's almost a flip side. I've noticed big dogs are much better pets usually on the obediance part, from my experience. I think many people should realize Goldens, Labs, Great Danes, things like that can be much better. Just ask a few beagle owners, lol. Sometimes small dogs are only good for one thing, and that is their size.

A fisher is like a marten (if that helps). Otherwise, think of a large, tree-climbing mink which, despite the name, isn't even semi-aquatic.
And I was just effing with you back then.

Ya'll have nutria in Oregon? I thought those little buggers were confined to Louisiana, Texas, South Mississippi and down that way.

Yep, years ago there were a bunch of fools who thought they were going to make a fortune selling the pelts of nutria. Wrong. . . So, when they all went out of business they just let the nutria loose. Big brains. . .
Now they are firmly entrenched. Wreck all kinds of natural habitat and have made beaver and otter comeback almost impossible. The big nasty rats.
