It seems to me that your husband is (no offense) one of those "know it all" types. Disregards every advice given AND he's ignorant about powerful working breeds.
Police dog, huh? Wow, I'm surprised nobody else has touched on this. Seems more like a macho thing than anything else. He needs to inform himself about what he's got on his hands before making any delusional statements. He should read a little to see what it takes to have/train a PSD. Not all dogs are created equal.
A lot of us here are NOT experts but we take the time to read and get educated on dog training and the GSD breed in particular so we can give them and our families a better enjoyable life. Looks like you're not enjoying having this gsd as a pet. More than likely your hubby "talked you into it" see if it works?
