FWIW, he called me Ms. McAtee today, and I regard that as a compliment.
Much like the cost of the dogs in USA vs. Europe, it seems words and context, etc. are varied across the continents as well! (I did interpret your "miffed" as, well, "miffed" like P.Oed (which means mad or miffed)

Hi Steve,
I've been on this forum for a good while now and I regard Mike Arnold as one of the most polite and respectful people here!
He is NOT being sarcastic in any way I believe (not really having read the posts mind you :-) ) and I think he does the "MR" thing until he has "gotten to know you" (if that's possible in a forum but you know what I mean).
Don't take it personally dude! That's just forums for ya :-)

Steve, from the time I have been *reading* the threads on this forum (2yrs), I have came accross Mike Arnold's posts quite a few times. I believe I have seen him address other people by their last name about.. mm...99% of the time. I don't think he was being selective with you.

If you click on Mike Arnold’s name, you will be able to view all of his posts. You will then see that he always addresses EVERYONE by Mr., Mrs., or Ms. It is his style, and one that we are very familiar with. As Michelle said, it is a form of respect.
Also, in my opinion, he is one of the last persons who will ever intentionally start a squabble with anyone on this Board.
The English language is not an easy one – so many words with so many different meanings; however, on this forum, most expressions/clichés/colloquialisms are meant kindly.
Sorry, Mike – not trying to fight your battles – just wanted Steve to know we understand the language problems and ask that he not take offense.
As you think, so shall you be. |

Great! I think all this Mr/Ms ect. is figured out. I really enjoy this post about peoples opinions on prices and breeders differences, so can we get this post back on track.
( not trying to be direspectful to anyone but this is a useful post to new people)

I guess I will get this post going again. I will speak of a couple dogs people will know and ask people to throw their prices out on breeding to get some pricing ideas.
Breeding out of grand daughter from Titus Ps and Orry Antverpa.
The female is SVV2, IPO2 and V-rated. She is breed with a Podskalky which is SVV3.
Ok everyone throw prices to start this thread again.

It is interesting to see how the economics of suppy & demand work around the world, even in the case of dogs.
What I find most interesting is in my limited time in Europe, I never noticed a DOG as a pet. Pet Ownership didn't appear to be a BIG Thing, with anyone that I met or visited with in Germany, Switzerland, Austria or Czech Republic.
It could be that with less demand, there is a lower cost.
