Anyways, Jenni...stripper driver huh? That'd be an...interesting area to work in. o_O And to add to it, you do sound a little scary
Jenni or Jinn? I'm Jinn, and I drove the stripper. :P Not Jenni. Am I scary, or her?
Yes, Nathan, please answer. Or are you too scared?
Anna, while I can sympathize that seeing a child's injuries from a dog attack can be difficult, I cannot emphasize enough the fact that you don't really know what happened unless you saw it first hand. Unless you saw the dog, and are a breed EXPERT, and know the attack was completely unprovoked (no such thing, IMO; there are ALWAYS warnings, albeit subtle sometimes), then spewing anti-PB sentiment is not only wrong, it's totally unjustified and unwarranted. It's no different than a game of telephone-by the time the last person hears the story, it's so far from the truth it's unrecogonizable. Millions of dogs are killed for either being Pit Bulls, or for being mistaken for Pit Bulls as a result of slanderous propaganda with little to no veracity. THEY ARE JUST DOGS. Why are they continually made out to be something more?
If someone pushed you into a tree mulcher, would you blame the mulcher for your injuries? Noooo, because anyone with half a brain knows that a mulcher is a highly capable machine, and in the wrong hands can be dangerous if not properly handled.
All dogs have teeth. All dogs bite. Thresholds are the only variable. Dogs left to their own devices will rely on instinct for their survival. Dogs are not "bad" or "good," or "mean." Mean is pushing someone down the stairs or calling them fat. Have you ever seen a dog do this? They're driven by instinct, influenced by genetics and environment, and conditioned by training. How, then, can we blame them for our shortcomings?
Sorry to rant or be "scary" , but I'm sick to death of people jumping on this anti-Pit Bull bandwagon like a bunch of sheep. Think for yourselves, after examining FACTS. Anyone who spreads stories without verifying their truth is as guilty as someone who intentionally spreads lies. The devastation is the same.
My Grandfather always said "Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see." If we all did this, sweeping laws like BSL wouldn't exist, nor would widespread panic.

Brilliant, Jenni. I'll take your "scary" rants over the fear mongering media and a public population of lemmings anyday.
Thank you.

Well, Steve, he's the only one who admitted it publicly...I must be forthcoming and say that I've been called similar adjectives previously. But, our friend Nathan hasn't really clarified if he meant me or Jinn. I wait with baited breath.

People can posture and rant all they want, the bottom line is that there's a problem. I don't have a solution but unless you're in total denial and can't see it, there IS a problem.
Now, Jenni, how can i be scared of you when you made it possible (by turning down buying marek) for me to own one of the best nerved, stable and all around awesome dogs ever!, nothing rattles him, absolutly nothing, a remarkable animal, Thank you again!!!!

I want to thank Jenni for expressing a lot of the same "bitches" I have when it comes to Pit Bulls and banning them. This story jusy proves BSL is BS. BSL is even responsible for a Corgi cross being put down beacuse it LOOKED like a PB...how I can't imagine.
My neighbor is an ER nurse at Childrens Hospital in Philadelphia, in 15 years has not seen ONE mauling from a Pit Bull, not to say there are not maulings by PB type dogs, she has seen many by many other breeds. Now the press being the press EVERY freakin dog that cannot be typed becomes a PB because PB drama sells.
And to surprise many of you, the very serious breeders of these fine dogs agree with many of you. The dogs should be banned from the general public. Every dog out there that cannot be validated by provin blood lines they are all in favor of eliminating, because before the 80's these dogs did just fine and you never read about them chasing down elders and children and killing them...mostly because these folks know how to keep a pit bulls secure, and any dog that would for no reason attack a human was culled from the breeding programs. The true keepers of this breed understand it is a working dog and it is exersized properly and trained and led by their human alphas. They don't take their dogs to doggy play group or doggy parks. They don't let them roam, they take their animals very seriously as they KNOW and understand what they are capable of.
Now I have two an Am Staff and a very well bred APBT. My male is a powerful and level headed animal. He has been attacked by a Cocker Spanial, a JRT and an Akita. He only fought back when he could not discourage his attacker...and then it was quick. So a well bred dog may be an efficient fighter, but is not necessarily fight crazy, my male is proof of that. Each time he was attacked it was due to an off lead dog and an irresponsible owner. Now granted my female Am Staff is more typical of a PB, she has animal aggression...but both dogs are quite reliable with people as they should be.
I would hate to have to give my dogs up....but should that be the way the tide runs all you big dog owners be worried, because those very same idiots will be lookin for the next fashionably tough lookin dog to ruin - and it very well may be your breed of choice.
