I first want to thank your son for his service, and your family who have raised an awesome patriot.I am so thankful for the freedom we are able to have because of the men and women in the service. I have a few friends that are in the service or have children in the service.
I want to thank you for the video's that I would like to show to my mom, my step dad was in vietnam--the 101st airborne, screaming eagles--he left this earth a few yrs ago after kidney failure and other war related illnesses. He was the most highly decorated native american and such a humble man. I truly miss such a respectable person. Thank you again, lisa
I know this is an old post but were still loosing men/women almost daily in Afghanistan. My husband is currently deployed and he attends a "Ramp Ceremony" almost daily lately. That is paying last respects to a the fallen as they their bodies are loaded onto the plane. There is also about 500 service dogs there as well getting wounded and killed along side their human companions. It's important that we keep these brave humans and canines in our hearts and not forget their sacrifice.
God Bless
Our military could not be as strong without such great family support. Thank you Dayna. I was deployed 15 months to Iraq. Although, I've not had boots on ground in Afghanistan I see it's devastation, too, as an Army critical care nurse assigned to Brooke Army Medical Center.

Absolutely Dayna, my thoughts and feelings as well.
On a recent trip home to Minnesota, there was a very large troop of Marines headed out to Afghanistan. I said thank you to several I passed by and had a lump in my throat seeing the many having to say good bye to their loved ones.
I would like to say thank you to your husband and also to Cary Barrett as well for their service, it is most greatly appreciated, so very much!
Thanks for your post! My heart is with you, God Bless our troops!
Thanks Joyce and Cary. It's not easy being a military spouse, but it's nothing compared to what they go through. Every time I travel, I also get choked up when I see our brave young men and women in uniform.
Cary, I admire your service. I'm also an RN (civilian) and my husband is the Wing Surgeon in Afghanistan and I can only imagine what you've experienced. God Bless you and I pray for the day we can bring them all home.
I went to the Commissary the other day and saw a little girl carrying around a doll with her daddy's picture on it. I asked about it and she said she got it for her during her father’s first deployment. She hugs it and it talks to her in his voice. Then I noticed she was pregnant. That's a strong lady. Taking care of a little girl by herself and getting ready for another one alone. Our children are grown, and that's hard enough. I just can't imagine. My heart goes out to all of them.
They are coming home
Check out this story, they were stationed with my husband and he had the privilege of walking past their kennels almost daily. Oh, my husband completes his 7 months over there also and comes home next month
