shody is right-i thaw out a bag of backs at a time, and leave it in the fridge for however long it takes to empty it.
i keep my cutting board on the counter-i plop a back on there, give one(maybe 2) wacks with the meat cleaver-it's now in half.
i also wash all my dishes at once-so i have no real clean up, i toss everything in the sink and wash it later.
idk, maybe i'm just lazy-i do little measuring/mixing. I eyeball almost everything, and when i do mix things, i use my hands(i'm weird, i love to mix yucky stuff with my hands), rinse them off(not even really wash them) and serve.
and i haven't been feeding raw for years either, months really.

I was wondering about where the books say to try to serve the meat at room temperature or they could have stomach upset, How does everyone deal with that? I try to put it in hot water at night to warm it up from the fridge but could you leave it out during the day so when you came home it would be room temp? or is that pushing it as far as germs or whatever. Or is it really not that big of a deal?

I know lots of people who feed the meat frozen. Especially if you have a dog that eats too fast, it slows them down. I have found with my dogs if it is pure meat, such as beef heart it actually makes it easier for them to eat it if it is at least partially frozen, it chews easier, not as rubbery. I like to give ground meat frozen too. Otherwise they just gulp too fast and don't get any satisfaction of chewing it. I try to make sure the chicken is thawed, and most things though. But if it frozen solid, I just run it under cool water until the skin thaws, it just seems less icy and more appetizing to them, they eat it better.
I think some dogs, if they are small, you have to worry about body temp dropping, but it hasn't been an issue so far with mine.
I haven't seen any stomach upset either. But you have to know your dog, what works for some may not work for others.

A little off topic.
I keep waiting to read a topic "Question for people who feed dead or butchered meat"

Hi
well me i used to feed raw just very recently like a month ago for months but i switched back to kibble(the good one though)like orijen and yes i did swith back coz of its convenience plus the fact that i found a great one in the brand,it says it all but if you ask me would i switch back if it were the crappy ones which are famous in the states maybe i wouldn't,coz my dog aint a chicken which feast on corn!!!,nor s it an omnivore, however with orijen the fillers are just vegetables though its questionable if they would help in a dogs diet, still it contains 70percent meat as they say and some supplements in which,i myself might not be able to get from raw unless i really give time to it,(honestly sometimes we even spend more time to figure things out on there diet more for ourselves, which says a lot,.why dogs now as cesar millan would say humanize and aint that happy,we should love dogs but they should work for us and us not be there chef

I'll make a safe bet and say that Cesar wouldn't place feeding raw in the humanizing category (I hope not!). Just because one may go to a bit more effort to feed this way, has nothing to do with humanizing dogs.
Besides, IMO the term "humanizing" a dog is used far too often, most often incorrectly.

How do you equate feeding a dog raw meats with humanizing a dog?
The only way humanizing would happen feeding a raw diet is if you put a bib on the dog and had him sit at the table with the rest of the family.
Half a chicken in a bowl (maybe) in the yard is not humanizing at all.
I agree with Sandy.
Oh yeah, ever seen what Cesar feeds???? PEDIGREE.
(don't get me wrong, I love him, but he needs to change foods too)

When you're sitting at the vet's office years down the road and for the umpteenth time, writing out another large check for another ailment your dog has due to a life-time of poor nutrition, trust me...you'll be humanizing him then.

Perhaps the use of the term "humanizing" was incorrect but figure it may be a language barrier. He DID, however, make a valid point. Many people spend more time and money feeding their dogs a perfect diet than their own families.
I thought this thread was asking people WHY they fed kibble and not, once again, beating them up for doing it. Believe it or not, many people actually have dogs live healthy long lives on "mid range" kibbles

Nancy, I don't think anyone is beating anyone up for feeding kibble; didn't see that at all.
It's also easier to feed a dog well, much easier than feeding a family a perfect diet. Dogs eat most anything, not so with people.
Edited to add: just to clarify, when I mentioned humanizing, I meant those who are afraid of ascribing any kind of emotion to a dog at all, for fear they're "humanizing" the dog.
