Poor, poor Toby. Is he not that bright?! He's balking at feeder fish, but he's going to allow you to step foot in a DONKEY RESCUE?????!!!!
Show him this post, too. LOL.

LOL, I was just talking to him and telling him he's getting insulted on Leerburg! Hee hee hee!
It's actually a sanctuary, so you don't get to take any of the donkeys home. There are donkey rescues in Ontario that will adopt out, but I don't think you can visit them the same way.
....clearly though, I'll never be allowed to live outside of Toronto city limits!
Teagan!

When and for what do you all vaccinate your cats. We have a kitten that is about ready to be spaid, but I have to do rabies with her before I can do that.
Do you all do any other vaccines for cats?
I am also wondering where those of us with both cats and dogs feed their cats.
I keep their bowl full all the time because otherwise I worry the oldest would not get her fair share.
And also because they are more stubborn and persistent than I am and freak out if the bowl is more than half empty. This means that I have to feed them up high.
I only get my cats their rabies shots, since they are indoor cats. But I did just order 2 harnesses for them so they can be on the patio on a leash when we're out there.
We had to cut a cat door in our storage room in our basement for the cats food dish and litter boxes-the dogs liked getting TWO different treats... one that was food and the other just nasty. The boxes are far from the food dish and are cleaned very often (every 3-4 days).

Tell Toby to count his blessings that *I'm* not his girlfriend.
3 horses
7 dogs (one probably bred)
3 cats (one Serval hybrid)
2 fish
1 bird
He should be thankful you are so into keeping a balanced ecosystem in your home.
LOL. I thought from your photos of Capri you lived in the city, but I guess city neighbors would like you even less if you kept horses in the yard. haha. At least they would prune the hedges for you.

Yeah, it was pretty bad when a dog would disappear and I'd call them to me and find out where they went and they would come up and breath in my face and I knew immediately who the kitty-poo snatcher was! lol Then they'd all get to go outside and get their poopy breath (which for some ungodly reason stinks up the whole room) away from me. :P

My cats were vaccinated before I knew better. I know my mother never vaccinates her cats since she had one die from a cancer induced by vaccinations.
We began feeding our cats a raw diet about a year ago. Our guide has been Raising Cats Naturally by Michelle T. Bernard and also Dr. Lisa Pierson's website, catinfo.org. There are other referrences listed at catnutrition.org and recipes as well.
I spend about a half a day every 2 weeks making up food that I put in the freezer in little snack baggies that I thaw as needed in warm water.
My cats have gone from tired obese blobs to lean playing machines. One of my cats I found as a 4 month old kitten while I was walking one on my dogs. She was extremely thin. I could feel every bone in here body. I think she would have died before long.
Since she has lived with me she has been fed nothing but raw food. She is now well, muscled and filled with energy (sometimes too much energy!).
My cats shed less, and have super soft fur now. There little box hardly has an odor and I think I spend less on their food now than I did when I fed kibble.
I will not vaccinate my cats any more. I rarely use flea medicine on them either and hardly ever have to worm them. They go outside sporadically. I plan to build them a cat habitat when I get the time and money so that they can go out safely anytime that they want. Occasionally I take them out on a leash but it is not like walking a dog.
One other resource to information on fulfilling cats is indoorcat.org.
Indoor cats get very bored sometimes and thus develop neurosis and behavioral problems.
I usually feed my dogs in their crates or kennel but sometimes I feed them in the kitchen where the cats eat. I do separate my kitten from the others because she would eat everyone's food and then vomit it all if I didn't (cats are competitive eaters).
My puppy has not learned yet to leave cat food (or cats for that matter) alone some he is never off a tether when the cats are eating. My Siberian Husky, Xena, has learned to eat only what is hers and to leave cats alone. She is never unsupervised with cats or cat food either and is usually on a tether as well.

So I have been switching them over to not having the bowl full all of the time.
It has been a stressful experience for both me and Fluff. She has the kitty temper tantrum down pat, as well as the I am going to following me around flopping constantly oh and the "FINE!!! I will just sit on the counter and knock stuff off until you give me dry food!!!!" routine.
I am now scooping a Tablespoon or so of dry food into the bowl about 3 times a day. She will nibble at it a little and then other two will finish it off at some point.
Then I am giving more canned in the morning and evening.

You know, I have often heard that cats can become "kibble addicts" - sounds like what you've got... she's detoxing! lol.
Almost all raw fed cat sites talk about having to switch kibble cats over so gradually it takes months, due to the "addiction".
So just wait her out... she will be a pain in the meantime.

She is always a pain! She has a serious royalty complex.... always has, it is just her temperament. But she is also the sweetest friendliest and most affectionate kitty I have ever known.
We had an engagement party here for a friend a couple of years ago, there were 40 people in our small house and backyard. Most cats would have been totally freaked out by this.
But not fluff!! she was literally going from lap to lap of the total strangers in our living room and getting all the attention she could from them
