I hope Bodie is doing well after his surgery. It sounds like it all went well.
He will be one sore pup for a while, but hopefully he will recover and be his old self soon.
Wishing you a Happy Birthday Melissa!
Take Good care,

Actually he looks fantastic. He's got a bunch of pills, a small pain patch, no drain, and the coolest surgical wound ever. He doesn't need to cone of solitude so long as he leaves the incision alone because they used internal dissolving stitches so the cut just looks like a weird skin fold. He needs to be kept quiet a couple days but that's no problem. He was very happy to sleep on his bed when we got home and is just acting a little sore.
She did say that we need to come back in about six months to make sure that this thing isn't recurring.

He's just about his normal self this morning and wanted the morning handouts with the rest of the little dogs. I have been busy the last day making up his new low fat meals and treats. I made a new friend the next town over with butcher rabbits and I know she's going to be a great resource for this little project.

My digital camera had a sad encounter with a certain nameless 5 year old niece and a glass of juice last month so sadly I have had no chance to photograph this patient. On the upside though I get to get a new camera after my tax return arrives.
My choice for Bodie's diet has been to go with preference THK and use rabbit as my baseline with very small amounts of chicken fat added. Happily my dogs change up their diet fairly easily and he's done well with rabbit in the past. Michelle happily had a good supply of older dutch rabbits in the freezer that I could just have.
I think the real difference honestly was them using the laser and going with a specialist with so much of this. This has to be the cleanest surgical work I've ever seen, with very little discomfort past the first day of soreness. This cost me about $3100 with the specialist and honestly I think it was worth every penny considering she cut 6 oz of gunk out of a 8lb 4 oz dog with so trauma.
Now I just need to wait and see how he adapts to the biological changes, finishes up his course of antibiotics, and eats his new boiled chicken treats. I just have my fingers crossed that he doesn't have a recurring cyst issue.
