Thanks guys. Yes, the dino is his fave. That's why I put it in the middle and saved it for last - because he always goes to it as a default if he's confused or doesn't know what I want.
and Barbara , you've just been working on that for a week?? Impressive! Falcon looks like he's really enjoying it, too!
We actually started before Christmas but then we were gone for ten days, came home with a cold, blah, blah, blah. He did pick up ip quickly though. However, today was his absolute WORST day at the behavior!! I could not believe it... I guess that is what I get for waiting until the last day!
Every other day we've worked on this behavior he has very enthusiastically flown back and forth over the bench at least three or four times, and asked for more. Today? With video rolling? Once. Only once. Second time, he hupped over but took the scenic route back. Third time, hupped over and then went sniffing. I stopped then. Before I wanted to choke him. Dogs. Wadda ya' gonna do???
I'll try again another day (after deadline) to see if we can show you the whole routine!
I also noticed Falcon has put on a few extra pounds!!! He is trying to tell me it is "camera" weight, but I think not...
Well, Faroh really likes the toys, first of all, so we use them a lot. He also knows "yes" and "nope" from marker training, and his reward is to play tug when he brings the right toy. If I were to go on to teach him to identify other items, I would have to alter the technique a bit.
