I think maybe he told you the dog had "gastroenteritis" which is sort of a general term meaning there is some inflammation in either his stomach or intestinal tract.
Did he give any medicine for your dog to have at home?
How did your dog act at the vet, was he a monster, or did that go OK?
If he had a very severe bowel or stomach problem it would show up in the blood panel. But the fact that he's lost weight is spooky, 15 lbs is a lot of weight to loose.
Also, if this doesn't resolve shortly, you *might* need a second Vet opinion. The Vet saying the dog could have food poisoning from the raw diet is a bad sign.
Some Vets don't have a lot of dietary knowledge, and attributing the illness to food poisoning could lead him to stop seeking other explanations.
I wouldn't trust that the dog has stopped vomiting just yet- they probably loaded him up with IV Meds to stop the vomiting while he was there. Watch him closely for the next 24-48 hours to see if it returns.
What vaccinations does the Pug have, and are they up to date?
I agree with everything that Aaron says.
If your pooch doesn't straighten out, pick up your Xrays and a copy of your blood work and get a second opinion.
Stress could be a factor, though. My son's English Bulldog was a complete one man dog, pouted and vomited and sometimes wouldn't eat if he was denied access to my son.
If the dogs world used to be you+dog, and now you have fallen in love, it could be a factor.
yea he said he gave him a shot to stop him from vomiting for a bit , I called today and he said his stool was fine ,the other person that looked at his xray said his liver looked a bit enlarged but nothing to worry about. As to walking him it's really cold so I've been playing lots of fetch with him inside .
and I'm not sure on the other dogs shots ,and I really don't give my dog tomany toy because he destroys even the nyle bones
