Okay, I am boldly and bravely going to ask what is probably a stupid question...
For a working line pup who is going to be worked in bite sports, do you deliberately NOT dicourage/redirect them from biting your legs so that later on they won't hesitate to bite the bite suits?

I redirect to toys........ With the pups one on one they are fine but if you want to see a pack mentality let 'em all loose at the same time.
They can be scary. ROFL
I don't sweat it too much, if I know I have a pup that is going to strictly a non protection home I up the bite inhibition. Ones going to working homes I redirect a lot because every one has their own idea on how they want that handled.
Pups I hold back I give a mild but firm verbal correction and redirect.
IMO...A good dog is a good dog.
You have to go a long way to discourage a well bred working pup to not bite what is presented to them to bite and or encouraged to bite...be it suitss or sleeves or anything else for that matter.
When their this young I don't do much discouraging of much. His bite isn't enough to do much but cause discomfort on my old hide. I am however the only one besides mama that he can play with like that. We encourage the biting until he gets the game, then its transferred to puppy sleeves and tugs and other fancy stuff. But I also agree with Anne, a good dog is a good dog, we happen to own a great one now!! lol I'm a proud daddy..
WHEN I SEE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL, I'D BE WILLING TO DIE PROTECTING IT.
