He wasn't asking you if you read the thread. He was stating that he didn't read the full thread and therefore may be repeating what someone else has already stated previously.

Okay, so now I have to tell a JOKE ... OFF TOPIC ...
An American is at Oxford University telling his fellow classmates about a time when he was climbing a fence and ripped his PANTS. His classmates wanted to know why he wasn't wearing any TROUSERS. In the UK Pants = Underwear for men.
So we've had an American versus British English mis-understanding, and that was without SLANG being thrown into the mix, unless you want to count MIFFED as SLANG, and then Oh- Goodness.
So, anyway, back to the dogs ...

Sounds Expensive, but I wouldn't dare guess. I can tell you that in hindsight, I view my Pup's breeder, as a Backyard Breeder with overpriced pups. But I call it EDUCATION.
So when/if I ever bought another pup, I would want to know more about the BREEDER and how the pups are RAISED, how a Large Litter is Handled, et cetera.
As has been said, Genetics is a CRAP SHOOT!

A mix up of the English Language between the Good old USA and little old England, Yes, Pants is known as Underwear for men and Trousers to where on top of them by us Engels as we are known overhere in Belgium, Sorry, Mr Arnold for the misunderstanding'
I note that very few of you say Hello plus name at the top of a reply. this is always done in England, this way everyone knows who the letter is addressed to and normally we add our name at the bottom it, is meant to be friendly and sociable, But i am on a USA based forum, customs are different, but meant the same as ours so i had better follow as everyone else does.
So' back to the thread

England are very much Dog Lovers, and so is Belgium both countries think a great deal about there dogs. Living here in Belgium though there is not a great amount of Places where you can get a great range of Dog Products including some sorts of food to feed Raw i do not think many feed rwa over here otherwise the Local Butchers would cater for them and they do not,Of course when you look at Belgium against the size of the USA, belgium would be only a pin prick in a corner of the USA

Hello Steve
When we post on a forum for a while and we get to know the other posters, there's a sense of familiarity that develops pretty quickly.
We do say hello and welcome to new members, but we won't start each reply with "hello" to everyone during every conversation if we've "known" the poster for weeks or months (or even years for some )
As far as Mr. Arnold, he's a gentleman and always very polite. His posts are excellent and we all appreciate the intelligence and well thought-out responses he brings to any discussion.
He's just more formal when addressing fellow posters than the rest of us are
I'm sure he wouldn't mind calling you Steve if you asked him to (right Mike? ). He certainly wasn't being sarcastic with you.
Nice seeing you around again, Steve!
How's little Fred doing? I'm so happy to hear that you're switching to raw by the way!!! Great news
(Sorry for going off-topic)
Signed,
Yuko (heehee)

What I find most interesting is in my limited time in Europe, I never noticed a DOG as a pet. Pet Ownership didn't appear to be a BIG Thing, with anyone that I met or visited with in Germany, Switzerland, Austria or Czech Republic.
Very much depends on the circles you run in. People are as passionate about their pets in Europe as they are in the US. Working dogs are typically regarded more as "working" dogs, i.e. they are there to work. But a great deal of the working dog folks too care about their dogs like any pet owner, but perhaps without the foo-foo crap

Don't know the dogs, but I'll throw $60,000 out there, just to keep this thread interesting...cuz it really is interesting.
I know of someone who reportedly paid $80,000 for a stud dog.

I guess I will get this post going again. I will speak of a couple dogs people will know and ask people to throw their prices out on breeding to get some pricing ideas.
Breeding out of grand daughter from Titus Ps and Orry Antverpa.
The female is SVV2, IPO2 and V-rated. She is breed with a Podskalky which is SVV3.
Ok everyone throw prices to start this thread again.
See my response above please...

I know of someone who reportedly paid $80,000 for a stud dog.
I'm probably showing my ignorance about dogs and breeding but this just shocks the hell out of me.
I heard something once that I've always wondered about but couldn't get an answer to...mostly because asking was rude and the owner was literally on his knees sobbing.
This guy brought in his female Weimaraner for an emergency c-section and spay and was sobbing that he had just bought a title or papers on his dog for $10,000??? It wasn't the purchase price...it was something else and her needing to be spayed meant he just lost or wasted all that money. Does anyone know what this could be?
He was nearly incoherent so maybe I didn't hear him right.
