Caught an episode tonite called "Hide and Seek" and saw a little bit of some guy named Jim Nash and his dog Bingo. ... I'm looking forward to more episodes and some more action with Jim and Bingo.

DANG! I missed it! I will be watching the "Guide" more carefully now!
While it may be easy for you guys to focus on the mistakes that probably only you would notice, I think, all in all, the program is a real positive thing and goes a long way in promoting the value and benefits of using K-9s.
I totally agree with you. I think it will be useful to look at your own mistakes and other handlers mistake. Sometimes, we don't know if we are doing things right or wrong without looking at videotape.
I will keep my eye open for Nash and Bingo.

Thanks Mike . We've been getting very positive feedback from the general public . Only critics in that area want to know why our K9's aren't wearing vests . So far everyone I have explained to why we don't , leaves with a new understanding on the use of vests and their downfalls .
I guess that's another benefit of the show . People feel more comfortable approaching us and asking questions and leave with a better understanding about what we do .
I hope everyone continues to watch the show and enjoys it . Sounds like they may be back for another season along with going to other K9 units around the country .
This has been a really interesting show, I have been very interested in this type of work for some time, and even have considered going to school for police work so I can learn more about training and working a k9. I have tried with no...I mean NO positive response, to getting involved with a dept to learn more and help out. So I guess if I have to take the long way around to reach my goal, all it is going to do is take me a little longer and cost a little more. Still something that I would love to do.
I like the show. I think it is very realistic and I like the way they use the night vision camera. I have been a K9 handler for 16 years in an urban area with a higher than average crime rate.
I think the handlers in St. Paul do an outstanding job of showing the true side of being a K9 handler. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the episodes. The majority of the 9 handlers in our unit have been watching it and TVO ing it every Wednesday night.

Connie.
Connie Connie Connie Connie Connie. I read this and I just shake my head.
You call yourself a dog trainer and you don't have a Tivo? I'm shocked. Totally shocked.
Get yourself a Tivo. With a Tivo you'll never miss an episode of K-9 Cop again.
It started out with one Tivo in the living room. Then a bigger one came out so I put the first one in the family room and the new one in the living room. Then my daughter went to college and took the oldest Tivo with her, so I bought a third one to replace that. Then they came out with these models that can record two shows at once so I bought one of those and put it in the family room and had two in the living room. Then my daughter quit school and I got the first one back.
And now they have HD models .....
But they are great for making sure I don't miss K-9 cops.
Thanks Steve . It's always nice to hear good feedback from fellow K9 Handlers . I've meet some Evansville PD K9 Officers years ago and stayed there on 1 occassion . Also went to a well known K9 vendor in Indiana and have always had a good time . The Evansville handlers were all good guys and their city seemed to be pretty busy. I known their dogs get worked alot .
