You do have your point though . What should I do first when the first day I receive my puppy? During the night time when I put him in his crate should I sleep with him in the living room or should I bring him into our room or should I just leave him alone in living room by him self? As I mentioned previous post , when the puppy arrive with his 200 size crate, when I bring him home should I tranffer him into his new crate the same day or what?
Walter
I have had pups settle right in and I have also had ones that cried a bit the first night. If I have a crier I usually put the crate in the guest room and sleep in there with him so that at least my husband gets some sleep. A lot of times just dangling your hand in the crate helps them sleep.
Puppy's or new dogs I usually have their crate in the bedroom with us. It seems to settle them in faster and you are more alert for potential potty breaks.
On potty training the more you put into in the first couple of days the more it will pay off. New dogs I usually get up every 4 hours to let them out.
My puppy broke out of the plastic crate on the first night she was home. She was 8 weeks old and it was late after the car ride home from picking her up from the breeder. NO sleep that night.
