You know maybe that's why new people keep asking the same questions. I just automatically went to the box on the left instead to the bar up on top. Maybe it just needs to be moved somewhere more obvious and marked more obvious so that you guys don't get a new-user-burnout. It does not stand out enough to someone who has never used it before. JMO
I search all the time before i ask a question and I still ask simple questions that have been ask 100 times before.. I think its to get reassurance about stuff I am uncomfortable about even after I read it.

Good point...I do remember needing a lot more reassurance than I do now, but even still, with a new situation, I still post or send someone a PM to get "back up".
I've got to remember to hold the hands of the noobs better and not let PAST experiences cloud current opportunities, when at all possible.

At least that search often gives you language, terms, and maybe what the various POVs are ....
I mean, that search can really help hone your question, don't you agree?
Yes, the new member start is a good idea. I don't know how to post pictures either and at this point of time I am not even trying to figure it out, I am just too busy. But I think it would save both the new member and the crew lots of time and make things a little bit clearer. It could even come in the first email everyone gets.
FWIW I don't think you need to be "oh-so-gentle" with new people. I was stupid to buy my dog from a crummy place, everyone jumped on me, and YOU WERE CORRECT right down the line on everything, I've learned a ton, I enjoy the forum everyday, not sure the truth needs to be sugar-coated.
