They found the focus of the fever, that is good. Let's hope the new antibiotics
help.
I am very sorry that you and Oscar are going through this. I know he is in good hands, and I remain optimistic that his prognosis will be excellent. Thinking of you both.
Thinking of Oscar this evening. Glad he's young, strong, and healthy, as it gives him more healing power. Take care of yourself, Natalya. All of us can imagine how much stress and worry you are feeling.
I honestly don't know how we can become so attached to an animal we've never met personally... but we have. Natalya, maybe it is your incredible photographs which bring Oscar so clearly into our homes and hearts, but I hope you know how much we are all keeping your big, loveable masked beast in our thoughts and prayers. And you too. Rest. He is in good hands.
And run a mile for me at the gym if you will please.
I have been busy and not been on the board for awhile and felt my heart sink when I saw the title of this thread! My thoughts are with you and Oscar.
Ironically, a week ago I came home from work to find Robin lethargic, shivering, and having a fever of around 103.5. Off to the vet we went and the xrays showed some concern in one lobe. Vet's guess was pneumonia and we put him on baytril, amoxi, and carprofen. It seems to have taken care of the problem but I am going to continue the meds for a couple more weeks. I hope that Oscar gets better soon!
One less thing to worry about. Since you went to the gym to burn off some stress; I decided to help you burn some more by opening the large size Wise potatoe chips and eat until you feel better.
It is really scary not knowing what is going on; but during Thor's serious illness there never was a definitive diagnosis. It reminded me of House too; but the vet just kept treating the symptoms and he did get better. So much better in fact that some days he's a pain in the a@@! That title is only reserved for the healthiest of dogs.
Thor and I are thinking of you and Oscar and sending all our best wishes and tail wags.
Just checking back to see what's new....sounds like it's being narrowed down. I'm hoping for the the best case scenario and wishing there was something more I could do besides hope, pray and send best wishes.
I continue to wait with my fingers crossed....More hugs to you
