I lived at the kennel for thirteen weeks before I put money down for Drago. I don't know how much you paid but if it is on the low end and the puppy is every thing you want then you got a deal.
he was $600 I'm planning to put $1000 worth of training into him. I've met someone after 5 different vets told me that this guy was a good trainer. We decided to have the dog trained professionally if we can. I was going to ask about that soon in a thread. We are going to meet the guy tomorrow. His SDA club he hosts is full so training is the next best option I think. He said he won't train the dog for work until he is the right age.
The reason for the training with someone is my wife wants to totally be sure about her dog
.
I wish you the best of luck with your new pup.
May he be the best dog you've ever known.
Here here. I like that blessing.
Another thing, is that the dam did produce one of his sires who has an OFA excellent. That would make me feel a little bit better.
I don't like that contract, but you have already signed it and paid. Plus as Dennis points out the puppy wasn't really expensive. Its not like you are getting ripped off for four grand or something absurd.
I agree with everything Randy and Dennis say in their posts. I probably would have been a little more careful, but whats done is done. Unless you have a really strong feeling about this being wrong when you pick him up, take it all as a learning lesson of how to go about it the next time around.
I sure hope that you are not talking about sending this dog away to live in someones kennel to be trained. I sure hope that is not what you are saying.
I personally, would NEVER send my dog away for training.
I want my dog to see me as the most important thing in his/her life & that the sun rises & sets on me....not someone else. I want that special bond & trust to be with me. I want to be the one the dogs trusts & wants to learn & experience new things with.
Yea, part of the fun of owning a dog like a Malinut is the training. By all means don't cheap out in training, get the best trainer to SHOW you how to do it. Personal is best but classes can be nearly as effective in the right school. Clubs are excellent in making your dog an exceptional professional looking dog. And you can't beat the bragging rights you get.
