If you would like to replace your batteries after 2 years Einstein will sell the batteries and replace them for you. I am not sure on the price of the batteries yet. I'm waiting for Einstein to get back to me on that.
Other wise it is extremely easy to replace yourself. We only took the video down to avoid further confusion.
Price on the batteries will range from $12 - $16 depending on the model collar

That sounds pretty reasonable.
Don't remember the exact price but it was over 80.00 to replace the 4 batteries in the dogtras.
Thanks for the information Jeff.
I didn't see the video but it sounds handy for the do-it-yourselfers. Maybe just add a disclaimer about possible warranty issues.
I can see looking for that kind of information a few years from now.

Well C.J., I think that makes at least 2 of us that will be looking for it in 2 years.

Oh for sure, at least 5 of us right here. Which model did you get Mary?
With one of the dogtra’s, we got close to three years, shortly after I found out they actually had to be changed. Silly me, thought they went forever, just charging them up.
Hopefully these ones will have the same longevity.
I'm curious about the light and bulbs and stuff like that too. I guess we'll find out. I can say they run bright for over an hour straight. Never dimmed till I turned them out.

Hi C.J.,
I got the 1200. Haven't used it yet. I already have 3 others (a dogstra and 2 tritronics). But, I was curious about the new technology and, new toys are always fun. I just don't like sending things away when I can do it myself, and would like to know how to do it right rather than risk damaging it.

I'm certainly planning to change my batteries when they need it, once the warranty is up. Even though I've got a Dogtra as a backup collar, ship this collar and wait to get it back when the change is so easy.
I'd love to see Jeff's video available but I think putting a disclaimer somewhere in the video to alert us about the warranty would be a great idea.

I have a question? I've been trying to use the collar on my girl and it seems to have zero effect? While using it on my boy he gets it at around 12-15 and don't really have to turn it up at all unless he gets really wound up, but I'm kinda hesitant to use it on my girl as she's showing no response at 50-60 (hurts like hell on me)but she doesn't even blink or move at all?? and i'm not sure how much I should/can crank it up without it becoming abuse? Is there maybe something I'm doing wrong, I've even made it so tight I was worried it was way too tight, or are some dogs just not fussed by these things?? She's not normally a tough girl in general but she is very quick to bounce back after a tough correction?

Brad, I've found that my dog works on her 500A at less than 20 generally. Every dog is different but I'd say 60 seems like a pretty strong correction. Any chance her coat is preventing good contact or the battery was dead? I'd say, and others might have better advise, that I'd pay more attention to the dogs response than the number on the dial and find the level where she's just indicating that she's felt the correction.... a movement of an ear, looking around a bit, etc. Vocalization or jumping are indicators to me that I'm at way to high a level. With that said, I'd be wondering too if it's not giving any response at all at 60. For tightness, I adjust it so I can fit two fingers inside the collar but not 3 fingers.

You can also get longer prongs, if the coat is interfering.

great point Duane and the Einstein collar I ordered came with a longer set, although I'm sure there are even longer contacts available. I tend to forget this given that my dog has a short coat.
Proper tension is still important to get consistent levels of stimulation. I wouldn't over tighten a collar to compensate for having contacts that are too short or leave the collar too loose if I had longer contacts. I want a correction at 15 to always feel the same and using sufficient tension (and the proper length contacts) can ensure this.
