Jacque Jordan: owner sells variety of Bravo, Buddies chicken, and many varieties of RMB's and ground meats, some holistic suppliments, and all natural treats.
Well, it has been 3 weeks now. I have been feeding my boy a combination of "Taste of the Wild" and chicken parts. The "parts" include the gizzards, hearts and leg quarters. I also squirt in some Salmon Oil. At his first meal I gave him a whole leg quarter. He looked at it like it was an alien or something in his bowl. He did not eat it. However, when I chooped it up into about 6 pieces, he tore it up. He is now at the point that when he eats he always eats the meat first and the a little of the TOTW. I leave that in there to make sure he is getting all of his nutrients. He had a little diarrhea when we first started that lasted a couple of days but now he is fine. Now he only get's it when I give him too much of the chicken grind that I forgot to mention earlier. He loves chewing the bones in the leq quarters. And yes, HIS TEETH ARE WHITER!!! I could not believe it when I looked at them last night. They are actually cleaner. His energy level has gone sky high and his coat is filling out. He also has stopped shedding ALOT. I used to have hair all over my floor but now it stays on him. I can't believe the difference. Muscle meet seems to keep him from getting the runs so he get's that mostly instead of organ meat. Thanks all of you that gave me such great advice and settling my fears for lack of knowledge on raw feeding. Oh, I did find out where I can get boxes of chicken parts. I live near Washington DC and just go to the farmers market where the resteraunts go to get their meat. Also, the supermarkets here have good gizzards and hearts in packages that are dirt cheap! Thanks again!!
Hi Mallory
I live in Asheboro N.C. Sure would like to meet your contact I have A Mal just started on raw, found chicken backs at mexican butcher.I think maybe cheaper out there. Farmer market about 35 minutes from me. the one off route 40 near sandy ridge?
There's a family owned and run farm in the Conroe area that's close to being able to offer free range chicken, ducks, geese, pigs, rabbits very soon.
We used to attend the same church many years ago. They are some of the finest people I've ever met and are trying very hard (4 years now) in running a family farm that treats the land as well as they treat and feed their livestock.
They are just beginning to formulate their ideas in how to market, what to market, and how to effectively ship to customers who are too far to travel to them or one of the co-ops they participate in. They are already CSA participants and very involved in homeschooling of their 6 kids
I'll get more info as soon as I can, but I wanted to let all my friends in the southeastern part of Texas know there's a new place for you and your dogs to get great produce from super people who really care deeply about what they're doing and HOW they're doing it!
