Perhaps every 2.5 years her life hits a bored, static low period and she pops in to kick a sleeping dog just to liven things up a bit?
....Cause really, if someone was that talented and capable, it would seem that they would stick around and help other folks, doesn't it?

Seriously, and be willing to answer the questions put to her, which obviously she isn't.
Maybe with a prong collar and some marker training she might learn....

I know I need help. I can't convince my dogs that my body language is motivational. They think "positive motivation" is supposed to involve some kind of "reward" for them.
I don't know .... where did I fail?
"New research in dog behavior has shown motivational as oppossed to compulsion is more successful. "
New? NEW? What rock was this person under during the years that marker training has been sweeping through the various venues ... ?
Jillian, what does "motivational" mean to you?
I think "motivational" can be either "positive motivational" or "negative motivational." That is, reward-based, or punishment-based.
Most people mean "reward-based" when they shorten it to just "motivational."
The handler's body language isn't generally classified as a reward for the dog.
If you're serious, and not a troll, you might want to check out marker training.

And now if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to go watch Will's link a couple dozen more times. http://leerburg.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/204495/page/0#Post204495

I'm confident in saying that if someone was able to count the number of posts in which a prong collar was recommended as a first recommendation vs how many posts concentrate on positive reinforcement (marker training) with NO corrections until a behavior has been trained under every level of distraction, the number of posts suggesting marker training would significantly outnumber those on prong collars. The vast majority of folks here understand how they are to be used and what an effective, humane tool they are.
Anyone who thinks LB is all about "corrections" - honestly hasn't spent any real time on the forum...

Thanks for the laughs! Please OP, come back and share your wisdom with us! I really, really, really want to see the videos! Is the body language a happy dance? Or wagging a forefinger in admonishment? I tried praise only, but I couldn't run Jethro down to praise him when he was bolting across the field to 'meet' a little white dog.

I'm way behind on my leerburg reading...
My Dad just got a rott/dobe cross. A real monster, weighing in at a trim 120lbs! (GASP!!!) Anyways, he's always been in the 'evil prong collar' crowd, and used a 'nicer choke chain' Last night I did a little demonstration on his thigh. His dogs choke chain with a mild pop of the leash, and Koenig's prong collar with a mild pop of the leash.
I guess he went out today and bought a HS prong. Good Daddy.

Don't know.
Guess I'm going to just keep jerking my dogs around on the pinch collar seeing as the 'motivational' trainer isn't willing to help me.

I'm tired from work and my dog is all ready to rock out. So I gave her a frozen peanut butter filled marrow bone and she laid down. No abuse neccesary.
Is that motivational training or what.
