If I'm not mistaken, I've read that temps have dropped for two or three years in a row, plus the ice packs are gaining ice again.

And as I said, in the 1970's there was strong scientific consensus that we were headed for an ice age. So color me a skeptic, as I do not trust the "Global Warming" movements overall intentions, I believe that they are at their core a group that is trying to weaken America.

And I need to add this, I think that most of the people that believe the global warming scare have a good heart and care for the Earth ( like Connie and Rich, etc. ) it's just at the very top that the true intentions are hidden for dishonest purposes.

It reminds me a bit of the "Nuclear Freeze" folks during the cold war....good intentions but the underling was bad. And it was eventually revealed that the Soviets organized and financed the whole deal to weaken America.
It's very easy to suspect that much the same thing is happening here today with the global warming scare.

Things are a lot cleaner than during the popular ignorance of the 60's. How to you think they've gotten that way?
Ya think a couple of ceo's got together over some drinks and decided that spoiling that river outside the window wasn't a good idea for the peons health? No, almost one at a time, they were dragged to the table by the people who drank that water and told what they would do about it. They were dragged to the table kicking and told we won't be poisoned by the air we need to breath, the ground our children play on, and by the food we eat. They didn't do it all out of the kindness of their soft hearts. They did it because we told them we were going to rip their still beating hearts out and eat it before their eyes it they didn't clean it up.
That's how we got to the barely tolerable levels we have today Steve. But don't eat too much fish, or eat it at all if one happens to be pregnant.

Today we ship all the garbage off shore to someplace elses backyard. Because we as a nation have decided that our outsized appetites need sating more then some third world nation needs their air, soil or water. Who cares? I got mine.

Well believe it or not we've run out of room to throw it away any more. That coal fired electric plant that powers the factory that made the sneaks on your feet in China just tinted the polish you put on your car just yesterday. Oh, and by the way, it's the same air you breathe. The same air your children breathe.

That we have wants not to be denied is all fine and good I suppose. But we should have the courage and the honestly to at least admit what the costs are.
