Oh Connie - Leo is precious!!! First little guy a bit creepy in a fun, wonderful, squishy, huggy kinda way, and the third guy just a great looking DOG. Love Leo's paddles!
I do love a pug!
I would never buy one from a breeder, but have considered looking into rescue or fostering them.
I also would never in a million years encourage that more of these squished-face crowded-mouth breathing-problem (and on and on and on) be bred by my actually breeding or causing breeding of them. I can't picture much worse that humans have done to dogs' physical conformation than what they did to those guys. (My two are remarkably healthy, but as I've mentioned, I've known dozens of Pugs, and remarkable health is not really a hallmark.)
But yes, our training club did kinda fall into Pug rescue, so I've known my share of these happy little guys.
Well, except Leo there. He's what PPD folks call a "serious dog." You can see it in that stern gaze.
And you can see why he can swim -- check out those front paddles.
Connie, do you need earplugs at night? My long-nosed dog is snoring to beat the band right now. Don't know if I could handle the sounds 2 pugs make, even as cute as they are.
hmmm, ok
1) German Coolie,
2) Australian Kelpie,
3) Real GSD,
4) Malinois (if I could ever be worthy),
5) Border Collie (working bred), and in a few years when I make it (if I make it) to a nursing home or whatever, I want a working Yorkie. Can't stand the idea of living in a community home with all the rodents that like dropped old people food. Gotta have a working rat dog and Yorkies are cute.
So there, I admitted it. (I can't be banned for thinking Yorkies are cute, can I?) If it doesn't work out, I guess I could feed it to the boa.....
GSD - but the ones here in Norway have their hind kegs touching the ground so never going to encourage that
Border collie
Boerboel - which I currently own, who is the most amazing dog ever and if she keeps healthy for her time then I would be happy for Boerboels to continue.
Mutts - mixed things
also I currently own an Alaskan Husky who is the most difficult dog I have ever known but has also given me the most joy and personal satisfaction ever (plus I lost loads of weight since being with him).
Actually maybe the best thing for me is to have 12 Alaskan huskies, give up on modern life, move to the wilderness and race them and have a Pomeranian for love
Hey All. Haven't been around in a couple of years, (long story, husband died, moved, all kinds of stuff going on) but hope to be back on a regular basis now and this looked like a good jumping in point since I have 4 dogs now. Current group is:
German Shepherd
Doberman
Pointer, field type
Malamute/Akita mix
My wish list of dogs tho would have to include:
Akita
Kerry Blue Terrier
Tibetan Mastiff
Malinois
but no doubt there always has to be a Doberman at this house
