Proper tension is still important to get consistent levels of stimulation. I wouldn't over tighten a collar to compensate for having contacts that are too short or leave the collar too loose if I had longer contacts. I want a correction at 15 to always feel the same and using sufficient tension (and the proper length contacts) can ensure this.

I missed the last sale on the E-500. Patience has paid off, it's on sale again and I'm ready to purchase one now. It will be our first e-collar. I want it for distance and distraction control. My 4 year-old dog is very large, very soft and has a good foundation of obedience.
