My mom said the same thing. She said "you're gonna get mad at me, but I think she looks like Caleb." When Caleb comes home I'll get some pics of them together. I don't see it, really, but of course they all look different in pics. I admit she does have a wide head for a primarily Westline female.
Thanks for all the nice compliments. She's really, really, a great dog so far. I never expected her to settle quite so fast. She is trying hard to figure out what I want her to do, but we have a bit of a language barrier. I need to find out exactly what commands they used.
Thanks, Angela. I think I did, too. I heard this morning that they were offered double what I paid for her at the show where she earned her V under Rudiger Mai.
I also got a warning call that she has a very civil side...;-)
Capri is really doing well. I'd say she's settling in, but she's not behaving any differently than she did the night I picked her up.
To Yuko and others who had asked:
She is VERY intense. I wish I had a video of her Sch trial; I hear she was quite the powerhouse and the judge commented that her bitework was incredible, esp. for a female under 2 years old and her first trial.
She has that great ability to be super intense one minute, then be calm as can be and quiet. I think she will make a great house dog...once I get her acclimated to Widget the Terrible and the cats.
I really, really, am lucky to have the contacts necessary to get a dog of this quality. So many horror stories of foreign sales and rip-offs.
I need to double-check the exact date she was bred (it was just earlier this month) and have her checked about 4-5weeks from then. Later, I'll probably xray to see approximately how many pups are in there. I hate radiation, but since she's a first time mom and I'm new at this, I want to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible for everyone's safety.
Supposedly, you can see more w/an xray b/c the pups can't hide as completely behind each other as they can in an ultrasound. I'll do whatever the vet thinks would be most accurate, but a few breeders have said they got way more accurate counts from x-ray than ultrasound.
