I just cleaned my heat pump outside unit, it was WAY dirtier and clogged then it look. I'd recommend you guys take the time to clean it as soon as the weather permits. Its not hard if you are hand with tools and be sure to de energize it first

We had rain today! It was cold and wonderful! I hope it makes it to the east coast because if it does your in for a treat. It was like monsoon rain. <3 I loved it!
Sitting on my deck right now watching the strobe light fest. Ah this is cool! I will post the video I made of the rain storm from this afternoon, it was cool.

I will never learn...
I brag about how nice our weather is where I live, and WHAM, it changes and we're in a heat wave! Not as bad as you guys, but 90 degrees for here is hot! Next time I keep my mouth shut!
Oh! So it's your fault it got so hot all of a sudden! Thanks Lori!
I kid But man I hate it too. 92 today, yuck! But the eGGe came in the mail today, so at least I have a toy that will keep Conan busy and not require me to be active in this weather.
Sorry Katie. I'll keep my mouth shut from now on!

Just a reminder to hydrate like crazy, both pets and people!
I got so hot last night I started to feel sick. It has only happened to me once before when we were at the zoo in gulf shores alabama. It is a really scary feeling and I can see how you could easily loose common sense and end up really sick.
Our air conditioner has been acting up, so the house has not been cooling properly since friday, no AC in my car, and a 6 pm ballgame with heat index of 115 and high humidity all caught up to me.
I should have known when I started crying for no reason, the dizziness and fatigue set in soon after. I am not a crier, much less in public over nothing
Getting in the air conditioning, a gatorade , a really colorful salad of fruits and veggies and some serious cool air made me feel much better.
But today I am dragging my feet and hurt all over.

I spent last Thursday at the ER for heat exhaustion.
We had a heat index of 110-115 and I thought it would be a good idea to work in the yard all day Wednesday and Thursday.
At the hospital my BP was 80/60. It normally runs 120/80 or 130/90 WITH BP MEDS. Heart rate was through the roof.
2 liters of fluid and I was brand new.
Doc said my kidney values were pretty jacked up, but they should come back to normal. I'll get rechecked later this week or next week.
All this happened WITH me drinking about 30 oz. of water every hour to hour and a half and gatorade thrown in there somewhere every hour.

Are you crazy?
Get the wanket, spread it out in the shade, and lie on it with your "30 oz. of water every hour to hour and a half and gatorade thrown in there somewhere every hour."

Oh michael, that is scary!
You guys are having the same miserable weather we are, had I been out there much longer I would probably have been in the same boat.
I was working inside all weekend, but with the duct that has come undone leaking all of our cool air into the crawlspace it is still in mid the 80s in the house and pretty miserable unless you are sitting perfectly still under a fan!
I haven't missed a game yet, and didn't plan on it. But I am really thinking I might sit it out tonight.

Wednesday I didn't feel any of the effects. I think I pushed it right to the limit that day, but a lot of time was spent on the tractor, so I never "felt" the exhaustion.
Thursday, Ashley and I put out 1 pallet of sod and I had to quit. That is not much sod.
I didn't think I did it good enough that morning, so I went back out that afternoon. Only got 4 PIECES out and had to quit. 4 pieces is nothing. Only 4 square yards. My 2 year old could do that by himself.
That should have been the tip off, buuuttttt....... Just had to get the yard done. Got done that evening, but almost killed myself.
For the price of the hospital visit, I could have paid 10 people to come help me and we would've been done in a couple hours and I would be inside sippin' tea.
I are the smartest person in Arkansas.

It's the most awful feeling too, almost like an anxiety attack but worse. Were you sore and tired afterwards? I feel like I've been put through the wringer today.
I made myself a jug of really weak ice tea with lots of lemon and brought it to work with me today. I really don't like plain water, but I will happily chug this stuff all day.
