I have not been in a very good frame of mind so I have not done much with the boys.
Today I got Harley to work on the weaves and the were very good.
I did play some fetch with him daily just to keep him sane.
Dexter seem more then happy to sleep in. Yesterday he was not moveing at all, if I could I would have join him, we got over a foot of snow. I will kick myself in the butt and do some weave and ob with him before my next lesson.
My mare got her special eggbar shoe on but still extremly sore and lame. My leg vet is coming back this sunday. My nerves maybe calmer when he tells me his prognosis.

Club night last night. Did more fence work with Sadie. She's coming along, but still more interested in the agitator than the rag. I'll be continuing my prey drive promotion and working on her grip at home.
Nice track in a fresh field this morning. The field had been bushhogged over the weekend, so there were mixed spots of high grass and low grass, with dead grass mixed in. Her nose wasn't as deep as usual in the high grass.
On the plus side, I used a lot less bait and more articles, with long unbaited stretches between bait and articles. She stayed focused in the long unbaited sections, and indicated every article perfectly.

Agility class today.
Dexter got to play a bit. He like the tunel and jumps. He can manage the A frame but not really confident. The tether, dog walk are very confusing if he could only do them with his front paws. The tire is puzzeling, why should he jump through the hole when he can crawl under it.
Harley has graduated the weave class and we are moving to novice competion. We did some good sequences up to 10 elements.
I have no problem to remember the order but how I should get from one element to the other yea, I trip over my own feet.
It was lot of fun to see how far Harley got. I can work for a good distance and direct him to different element. I have to work on the rear cross, the front and blind cross are good when I do them correctly. The rear cross is harder as Harley then to look for me when I slow or stop to let him in front of me.
I am looking for lure coursing equimpent (or make some) for Dexter if the snow ever melts. He love to chasemoving stuff but once it stop it is not fun. I really want to find something for him.
The agility coach said that he is very "simple" and the he gets confused with the mark and reward. So he knows click = reward but he can't make sense of sit then click and reward. It is like he does not conect the dots.
He knows his basic stuff. And yes it was easier to teach him the A frame with no mark just reward and a bit of lure at first.
It is so hard for me. His 2x2 weaves are moving but so slowly it is not even funny. And if he get stuck I need to go back 2 or 3 steps.

Tracking this morning on our original field. Worked a long track with patterns that Sadie is familiar with, in order to reestablish that deep nose and headswing, and strengthen her turns. She was perfect on the first three articles. The last one was after a substantial unbaited stretch, and she hesitated, then sat. I gave her a "down", marked it, tossed the article two feet, gave her a "find it", marked the correct indication, then threw her a party. I was tickled pink by how well she tracked, and will try to stay consistent with this pattern for a while.
We worked on some beginning send-aways, then I let her run and did some long distance "downs". We finished up with some out-of-motion exercises.

Recalls! Don't have any problems with coming when called, but damn is it hard to get her to stay still long enough for me to walk away.

Been ill and busy so I haven't logged in. What we have been working on:
Bindi- Rally O heeling, turns, recall. Also training her to lick her lips on the cue "Yum!" She is doing very well. Also have been training my fish Dudley, little blue ciclid. I am training him to swim through hoop. Right now when he swims through the hoop I reward him. Soon I will put a cue to it and he will learn to do it on cue. He is doing very well. Today he earned up to 25 treats for swimming through hoop.
Cody- still working on fears. sigh...Have a BAT dvd to watch. Also, the little man is doing great with helping me around the house. Today I was trying to get into the cupboard but he was trying to close it for me! ha! he also picks up dropped laundry and the all the dogs breakfast dishes.
Terra- still going to school, doing well, we are concentrating on heeling. She is really relaxing and loves people and being petted and loved on.
At the beginning of the month went to a Catherine Zinsky seminar. It was good
sharon and my pups Bindi, Cody, Terra

Still in Indiana. We went for a walk this morning and worked on 'no pull' for a loose leash, non structured walk. We haven't done many leashed walks because of all the ice. We also did some focused heeling past a puppy tied out in someone's front yard. That was a big accomplishment for her. We heeled to about 10 feet from the puppy in small (5 step) increments. Her last reward with the tug we played all the way past the pup to keep her distracted and engaged. She looked around for him while still on the tug, but she didn't let go. We had super happy fun time after that and finished the walk with her 'free' on a loose leash so she could sniff everything and enjoy her nose.
