Just posted an update last night, but here is another and hopefully the last! Took him back to the vet for a check upon the ears today. He said they look great! So for now and hopefully forever we are done with this ear problem! We will continue to finish out the antibiotics. Thank you all for the help, we've learned a lot! Oh and some head shaking is still going on but mainly when he first gets up from laying down. Was talking with the breeder and the vet and with everything inside the ears looking back to normal, we are thinking the shaking after getting up is normal, and maybe I just never noticed because I wasn't looking for it when nothing was wrong, or at least not enough to get my attention before the fox tail. Breeder said his dogs do it often after getting up from laying down. So it appears as if we are back to normal. Again, thank you all for the info and guidance!
The shake is more of an all over shake. Still does it and really it's just after getting up from laying down. Rarely do I see it just doing normal activities. Something I did notice yesterday is I was really messaging below his ear, behind his jaw and afterwards he would give a good shake.
All seems well for now though or at least what in hoping is normal!
Question regarding treats now that this appears to be clearing up. In your opinion do I still need to be avoiding wheat and grains in treats? I have been just curious if this is something should be avoiding long term. So many treats have those ingredients.
And the flush someone mentioned for after swimming to help dry the ear? Is there a certain flush that is used for this to remove moisture from the ear? Hasn't gone swimming yet, as I want to wait a while to make sue all is really good, but we do have a river we hike around at and he'd love to get in!

I use a homemade ear flush made of ordinary rubbing alcohol into which you can add a few tablespoons of boric acid powder and a few drops of gentian violet.
You can google the recipe. It's called "Power Blue ear cleaner." Good stuff.
I mentioned I noticed this the other day, but if you all message your dogs ear canal, like down below his ear flap, behind his jaw, i guess where the ear drum is or close to it, will they shake their head? He does it every time. I just wanna make sure this is normal and not something still irritating him.
Shaking the head can be a form of expression, "enough of that". Some dogs shake after you put the leash on.
Also to align the jowls on dogs like setters and hounds.
