Okay, I'll cut to the chase. I just spent 45 minutes reading old topic/pots but didn't find the answer I was looking for.
My Cane Corso pup (he's just about 11 weeks old) urinates when he gets pet in public. When we're at home and people come over and pet him, he doesn't do it. Its only when we go to Petsmart that he does it. I've tried having him sit first before people pet him but it doesn't work. As soon as they pet him, his little nub (tail) gets a waggin' and the urine starts a pourin'!
This to me isn't submissive urinating, so thats why I'm looking for help. Is this something he'll grow out of? Are there any tips anyone can give me?
I take him to Petsmart (I work there part time) twice a week for socialization reasons. He's deathly afraid of any dog thats bigger than him, yet loves to try and play with the dogs that are equal size or smaller, but thats for another post/discussion. Just in case you were wondering why I go there in the first place.
Whether it's excitement or submissive urination, the best thing is to just ignore it. He'll outgrow it one of these days and one day, sooner than you think, he won't have to worry about too many dogs being larger than he is. I would carry some of the larger wet-naps to clean up after him as this would show you to be a responsible, well-mannered dog owner.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Thats sort of what I fugured. And I don't correct him for it or anything like that. Also, I do carry the wetnaps... haha. I guess I'm a responsible dog owner?
Thanks again, I don't usually get many replies to my posts.

This part is off topic, but I just looked at your dog's picture. What a beautiful pup!
OK: I helped a year ago with a Lab pup who had excitement urination, and it did stop by itself as she was exposed to the exciting situation(s) and the urinating was ignored (and not corrected). Basically, she slowly became less excited.

Thank you x2.
He should outgrow it. Then again....he may just be telling you what he thinks of Petsmart.
