Anyone have any experience in dealing with this? I understand it has to do with a pituitary tumor. I have a close friend who's 8 year old Golden Retriever was diagnosed with this. The dog is taking some kind of hormone treatment. The thing is, the dog seems to be in pain lifting her head. the dog is lethargic and displays signs of joint pain. The vet thinks that the pain the dog is going thru is being caused by a pinched nerve and is un-related to the disease. This dosen't show on x-rays though and the vet is recommending tests more tests be done. My friend is dropping a couple hundred bucks per week the last few weeks. I'm starting to wonder about this vet(this guy will charge $22 to trim nails...even after you spend $200 on something else). My friend dosen't wan't to let the dog suffer if this cushing's disease is causing all this pain and difficulty in moving the head. Just wondering if anyone here has dealt with this disease. I'm also wonering if the dog may have Lyme disease. Any thoughts?
