This is the second time I've posted and both times the question was a little weird. Sorry. My 8-week-old golden retriever likes to eat his poop. My wife says this must be a vitamin deficiency. Is this so and how do we know which vitamin?
I don't know what that other site said, but the best thing I've found to stop poop eating is to mix a little canned pumpkin (NOT the pumpkin pie mix) in with the dog's food.

You're wife is correct from what I've read and there is nothing actually wrong with it other than being disgusting.
I don't know how to tell which vitamin is missing (if in fact it can be done) but I do know that my pup did this and when I looked into feeding and dietary requirements and changed accordingly it stopped dead! No arguement!
What/how do you currently feed your pup?
There is an excellent book (http://www.leerburg.com/950.htm) which will give you more detail than you can wave a stick at but very interesting nonetheless and WILL help you in your decision making on what to feed your pup for the rest of it's life.
