My problem wasn't with the shepherd-it's the little one. So often they ask for it, and don't quite grasp the concept of the repurcussions. For Remi's sake, I'd try to get a more laid back, submissive dog, preferably opposite sex. Good luck and have fun with your new pup.
Likw Bob said..select carefully...that breed is a puppy mill special.
Never cared for them little dogs much...my sister had one and I never trusted the little SOB around kids. Just my observation. In fairness to those dogs...everything in life towers over them so confidence can sure be a problem.
I have a rat terrier and am involved in a rat terrier message board. I can give you the names of several very excellent RT breeders in CA as well as other parts of the country. Many RT breeders are now OFAing and you can find a list of some great breeders by going to the OFA sight. c.obrien1@comcast.net
Yeah, I am a little more leery buying a dog over the internet after Remi. So now, I ask for pictures of their kennels and I look to see how many males and females they have for breeding, etc. I also check the BBB in the area and RipOffReport.com which is a pretty decent site. I was talking to a breeder in MO, and their kennels are STACKED on top of each other, even though they were clean when she took the pictures. I'd rather find a smaller breeder that can spend quality time with the pups rather than them being in a cage for the first 6 weeks of their lives.
