does anyone know the best flea premise killer? i have a 5 acre facility that has a 6foot chainlink fence. nobody comes in or goes out . i have not had fleas in atleast 6 years. i think its from the wild rabbits/ we have them like crazy. i use bio spot on the dogs. i have used everything on yards but nothing seems to do much good.please help. sorry about the typing.
From experience I can say that Diazanon will do the job not only with fleas but every other creepy crawler. However; the chemical is very toxic to birds, fish, etc. You must follow the directions on the label to the letter and not permit dogs/cats or anything else on the ground until the ground is dry. I no longer use this chemical except for the fence line area away from the dogs.
Another option is SevenDust. It is much safer and will not harm the enviroment.
I would also suggest you use "Advantage" topical instead of BioSpot. I've found the Advantage is far superior to those products you buy over the counter.
I would also recommend you spray the Kennel areas using an anti hatch inhibitor. The vet's office here sells a variety of products for in home and outdoor use. Of course..follow the directions and remove the dogs while treating.

My wife is allergic to fire ants, and a simple once every 2-3 month treatment with this stuff keeps everything out of our yard, even crickets! BUT, the warnings are there for a reason, I don't even go back into the yard until it's completely dry after I apply it, much less let kids or dogs run around in the yard.
Just to add to what Barbara has said and a lot of people don't know this...
Advantage and Frontline are both over the counter. You do not need a prescription to get them. You can order them through many of the catalogs and some pet stores even carry the products. Vets are the major retailers, and always want to get you to bring your dog in so they can whack you with the office visit to "weigh" the dog, when you really don't even have to go through them.
1-888-pet-meds carries it as well as valley vet supply as well as a few others. Save yourself some dough.
