New member here. I've lurked for awhile, and gotten a TON of great info. Ed Frawley saved our lives, and he doesn't even know it! First were referred to the Leerburg site when we adopted our first dog, and had our first in-house dog fight. Ah, fond memories. Serena, who nearly bit off my finger at the time, is the greatest dog now. (I got in the middle of a dogfight.) We could'nt've made it without the Leerburg site.
I think we come here, at minimum, every time we get a new foster in. And so far, all have been rehabbed and have been able to be adopted appropriately. None that we have fostered have required euthansia. Special homes sometimes, though!

I am the Foster Coordinator for BrightStar German Shepherd Rescue, and also the Intake Coordinator. I do evals on GSDs/Mals/Pits in shelters also. Yes, there are Mals in shelters. We have had several PB Mals pass through the program. We have had Czech imports also. Also other dogs that you wonder how the hell they ended up in rescue, and why someone isn't missing their working dog.

We have placed with the NYS DEC before. I'd like to think we aren't your average GSD rescue, LOL!


I am also a nurse for a county health department, a student, and have 3 GSDs of my own, in addition to 2 fosters.
