Hi. I know Choke Chains and Fur Savers are not training collars, so when do you use them - just as regular collars? If this is the case then what if you have to give your trained adult dog a correction; aren't you going to be doing the same damage you would be if you had used it as a training collar (obviously during training there are more corrections).
I use a Fur Saver on my male adult for walks, play and around the house. He get's an e-collar and the fur saver if I'm going to seriously work him or if he is unusually hyper when I get him for a walk. I will ocassionally let him know I still on the other end of the fur saver but I don't give prong collar type corrections with the fur saver. A choke chain is just plain nasty and I don't own one. I'd use a dominant dog collar but at this point none of my dogs requires one, they arn't handler agressive and respond to lower level corrections.
